Singer-songwriter Toby Keith passed away “peacefully last night, February 5, surrounded by his family,” according to a statement on his official website.

Country legend Toby Keith has passed away at the age of 62.
Toby Keith's family released a statement to inform fans that the singer passed away peacefully last night surrounded by his family after battling stomach cancer. Toby not only had a huge impact on country music with 20 number one hits on the Hot Country Songs Chart and Country Airplay Chart, but also on the music industry as a whole, charting 39 Billboard Hot 100 hits and four of his 19 studio albums reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Less than two months ago, Toby performed three sold-out shows in Las Vegas, and just before that, he took the stage at the People's Choice Country Awards, where he accepted the Icon Award.
