Country singer-songwriter Mark Chesnutt is recovering from emergency heart surgery.
According to a June 18 post on Chesnutt's Instagram page, he suffered a heart condition and was hospitalized on Sunday. He underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery and is currently recovering. The surgery and recovery also led Chesnutt to cancel some upcoming shows.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the cancellation of my upcoming concerts,” Chesnutt said in a statement on social media. “I send my love and gratitude to my family and friends, the band and the fans for your understanding, prayers and support and I look forward to seeing you all again soon at a honky tonk near you.”
A representative for Chesnutt did not immediately respond Advertising signhis request for comment.
Chesnutt was scheduled to perform in Louisiana and Texas on June 21 and 22, as well as take part in Dauphin's Country Fest in Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada on June 30.
