After their successful “Summer of '99” reunion tour, Creed kicked off their fall “Are You Ready?” tour on Saturday night (Nov. 2) in Oklahoma City. The evening was supported by 3 Doors Down and Mammoth WVH, who will be on board for most of the outing.
Singer Scott Stapp and company opened their 15-song set at the Paycom Center with 2001's “Bullets.” weatheredbut then surprised fans with a performance of “Freedom Fighter” from that album for the first time since 2002.
Favorites like “Torn,” “Are You Ready?” and “My Own Prison” also highlighted the first part of the set. As he did during the summer tour, guitarist Mark Tremonti gave a guitar to a fan at the end of “What If.” This time, it was a girl named Justice who had been watching the show sitting on her father's shoulders.
The main set closed with the classics “With Arms Wide Open” and Higher” (No. 1 on ConsequenceList of the 50 best post-grunge songs). Creed then came out for an encore that included “One Last Breath” and set closer “My Sacrifice.”
3 Doors Down provided direct support for Creed, playing a 13-song set that included chart hits like “When I'm Gone,” “Loser” and “Kryptonite.” And Wolfgang Van Halen's Mammoth WVH opened the evening with a six-song set split evenly between the albums. Mammoth WVH and Mammoth II.
