On Friday, Crowded House released their eighth studio album, gravity stairsand to promote the launch, they stopped by Jimmy Kimmel live! to perform the single “Teenage Summer.”
Taking the Jimmy Kimmel live! On stage, the band delivered a solid performance of the upbeat, nostalgic song, with a bright 12-string guitar leading the arrangement. As the momentum built, an electric guitar line provided a countermelody to the lyrical chorus “Are we gonna have a teen summer?/Am I gonna get some crazy ideas?” finally reaching an anthemic climax. gravity stairs arrived in full on May 31, marking Crowded House's first full release since 2021. The dreamers are waiting. Speaking with Kyle Meredith in March, the band's Neil Finn compared the new material to their '80s and '90s classics, emphasizing their dreamy alternative rock sound.
