Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers' “Get Lucky” has made its way into streaming history after joining Spotify's coveted billion-dollar club.
It is the first Daft Punk song to reach the milestone as a lead artist on an album after The Weeknd's songs with the legendary robots, “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming.”
Williams had already been in the platform's billion-stream club thanks to the saccharine sounds of his My favourite villain 2 his hit “Happy” and his article in Calvin Harris' “Feels.” Meanwhile, it's the debut of disco legend Rodgers.
As of December 2023, more than 500 songs have eclipsed 1 billion streams in Spotify history. “Starboy” is about to surpass three billion, a figure reached only by four other songs: “Blinding Lights by The Weeknd, “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran, “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi” and “Sunflower” . by Post Malone and Swae Lee.
