DAIZY takes listeners on a neural journey with his new single, “Take Me Back,” a trap hit with a nostalgic twist.
The up-and-coming DJ and producer has been steadily building her career since 2016, performing at a slew of major clubs and festivals in Korea. A major breakthrough came three years later when she performed as a DJ at the 2019 edition of EDC Korea.
After releasing records on a number of beloved bass music labels, including Wubaholics and Mersiv’s MorFlo Records, DAIZY has now returned with “Take Me Back.” Its production, which begins with spacey soundscapes in the intro, feels like floating in a sensory deprivation tank, only to be violently ejected by a manic trap drop.
DAIZY oscillates between melancholic reverie and bass-fueled pandemonium, then drags you into a dreamlike abyss, leaving you disoriented but wanting more. Tying disparate elements together with precision, he leads listeners through a wormhole of clunky synths and distorted bass. Meanwhile, the mantra-like repetition of “just take me back” serves as a hypnotic anchor, keeping us grounded amidst the swirling chaos.
