The bright lights, the big stage, the long distance. Nothing daunted Brent Streetthe dance group who enjoyed a glittering audition on Tuesday night (June 25) at AMERICA has talent.
Hailing from Sydney, the contemporary troupe's performance was part dramatic, part magical and completely mesmerizing.
Performing to rapper NF's “Hope,” the 20-plus dancers, dressed in white, went through several seamless routines, impressing everyone in the room with a combination of strength, finesse, timing and coordination.
At the end, all four judges joined the audience to applaud.
Heidi Klum opened, describing the dance as exciting, beautiful and “something we've never seen before. Really fun. Well done.”
“The beginning was spectacular,” Sofia Vergara added, “and the rest was as good as the beginning. That was definitely the coolest thing I've seen today.”
Simon Cowell praised the creation as cerebral. “Besides what they did with their bodies,” he observed, “it was what they did with their brains, because this was a very well-made but creative, original show.” This is “the kind of audition we love on the show.”
The leader of the teenage group, Zack Degersigny, 17, admitted the show had been in the works for months.
Howie Mandel had the last word. “I thought everything you did was amazing. It was a surprise.” Mandel had a surprise of his own. hit that Golden Buzzer and the ceiling was showered with glitter.
The group from Brent Street, which bills itself as 'Australia's Home of Performing Arts', is moving forward in NBC's talent search.
