The boy meets the world Star Danielle Fishel has shared that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The actress revealed the news in a recent episode of the Pod meets the world podcast. “I was recently diagnosed with DCIS, which stands for ductal carcinoma in situ, which is a form of breast cancer,” she explained.
Fortunately, the cancer was caught “very, very, very early,” as Fishel put it. She plans to undergo surgery and feels very optimistic about the future of her health.
As Fishel explained to her podcast co-hosts and former The boy meets the world Initially, when her co-stars Will Friedle and Rider Strong told her about her diagnosis, she decided to keep it a secret. However, she eventually decided to share it in hopes of inspiring others to take care of their health and schedule their annual mammograms.
“They caught it so, so, so early that I’m going to be okay. So I want to share this because I hope it encourages anyone to get tested,” Fishell said, emphasizing the importance of these routine procedures. “The only reason I caught this cancer when it was still stage zero is because the day I got the text that said my annual mammogram had come up, I made the appointment.”
