Former Pink Floyd singer and guitarist David Gilmour is on track to claim this week's No.1 spot UK Official Albums Chart Midweek update with his latest release, Luck and Strange.
If the album maintains its lead, it would be Gilmour's third solo chart topper Lockable rattle in 2015 and On an island in 2006.
As a member of Pink Floyd, Gilmour has already secured six UK No.1 albums His return to the top of the charts with Luck and Strange it would mark his first solo No. 1 in nine years.

There's a consistency of thought and feeling that runs through that that excites me in a way that makes me make these comparisons.”
Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet holds its spot at No. 2 on the blast chart, eyeing a second consecutive week in that position. The pop sensation's latest release continues to garner attention, remaining a strong contender in the UK charts.
