The Swifites knew since the beginning of February that Taylor Swift has a new album, Department of Tormented Poets, due April 19, with some particularly provocative song titles (“Bye Bye London,” “But Daddy I Love Him”) and big-name guest stars (Post Malone, Florence Welsh). But since then, information about the album has been scarce, so fans have filled in the blanks, possibly passing along fake leaked snippets of songs while teasing each other with lyrics created by ChatGPT and a hilarious viral parody where a Taylor-created by AI sings lyrics like, “I'm so happy my Travvy made it to the big game.”
In his new episode Rolling Stone Music nowwe examine the frenzy of new album speculation and add some of our own while pondering some burning questions, with Brittany Spanos and Rob Sheffield joining host Brian Hiatt for the discussion (be sure to check out Spanos' new and of Sheffield 500 best songs podcast too.) Swift will add a Poets season on the remaining dates of the Eras tour? Are some of the leaks true? Will Swift take a big break after the Eras tour?
