Its opening night Death becomes her on Broadway brought together the ladies of Destiny's Child for a group reunion. Both Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland hit the Lunt-Fontanne Theater in New York City on Thursday night (November 21) to support Michelle Williams' performance as Viola Van Horn in the musical.
Beyoncé posted twice on Instagram on Saturday, both posts filled with photos and quotes from her run on Broadway, which also stars Megan Hilty (as Madeline Ashton), Jennifer Simard (as Helen Sharp) and Christopher Sieber (as Ernest Menville). Death becomes her is a musical adaptation of the 1992 Universal Pictures film of the same name, a dark comedy starring Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, Bruce Willis and Isabella Rossellini.
“Honey,” Beyoncé captioned a photo series since the night he saw Williams inside Death becomes her.
In a variety of photos, fans see the Broadway star looking gorgeous on opening night, the ladies posing with Beyoncé's mom (Tina Knowles) and holding hands, the playbill of the Broadway production, a look at the outfit of Bey, stage shots from the theater and more.
Beyoncé's another post shared similar moments from the special night, set at Cowboy Carter“II Most Wanted,” in which he sings, “I'll be your rider until the day I die.”
Williams saw the emotional post and commented: “I try not to cry too early in the day BUT……. My sisters 4 ever!'
Last month, Williams lamented not being able to join Beyoncé and Rowland at Kamala Harris' 2024 campaign rally in Houston. She's been busy previewing Death becomes her in New York.
“I was so happy [for Beyoncé and Kelly]”, she said in an appearance on Sherry demonstration. “It was the first time I couldn't be in person for something I wanted to be in… It's a sacrifice we make [being] on Broadway.” Williams said she watched the rally afterward and loved that her Destiny's Child bandmates “represented me and held me down in their own way.”
The trio released their last studio album together, Destiny was fulfilled20 years ago. The set debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts in November 2004.
