Attendees at the Movement 2024 Electronic Music Festival at Detroit's Hart Plaza have evacuated the venue due to bad weather.
The organizers of the movement issued an alert through social networks at 6:43 pm on Sunday, the second day of the festival.
“Attention: Severe weather heading to Hart Plaza,” the alert reads. “All attendees must evacuate immediately. Please proceed to the nearest exit point.”
Ticket holders quickly evacuated Hart Plaza when a storm hit, a site EDM.com Confirmed a member of staff covering the Movement. Currently, rain and thunder are lashing the festival grounds, as well as wind gusts of 17 miles per hour, according to AccuWeather.
Organizers said they are actively monitoring the weather and will provide updates promptly. Headliners scheduled for tonight were Richie Hawtin, James Blake and a highly anticipated collaborative DJ set between Idris Elba and legendary Detroit techno producer Kevin Saunderson, among others.
