In the third episode of 'Billboard Unfiltered,' Billboard staff members Damien Scott, Carl Lamarre and Trevor Anderson discuss the fallout from the 2016 video of Diddy physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, as well as new allegations of sexual assault against him and how this will last forever. tarnish her legacy. They also debate whether Lauryn Hill's unique album Lauryn Hill's bad education He is the “best” of all time and more.
Carl Lamarre:
First thing we're going to get into today: Last week, CNN obtained some footage, some video footage from 2016 stemming from a physical altercation between Diddy and Cassie, where Diddy kicked her, pushed her, and dragged her to a hotel. This comes from the months-old lawsuit that came to light in 2023. And now we have video evidence to back up the claims. The next day, Diddy apologized, he didn't directly name Cassie because of the lawsuit, but you know, there was obviously a lot of outrage. Curious to hear reactions. Thoughts on the situation ahead?
Damian Scott:
Just terrible. One of the worst things I have ever seen in my life.
Carl Lamarre:
Yeah.
Damian Scott:
You know, there were rumors that this was happening. For me, the most disconcerting part of the last few weeks has been Diddy's actions. He goes on Instagram and posts messages to the effect of, you know, “the truth will come out.” And you know, he's tired of people lying about him and “enough is enough.” And then we see this video and it makes him look crazy.
Stay tuned for more from the conversation.
