Of Hardstone PsychoLaunch and streaming activity of 76,500 units contributed 57,000 units, representing 75.98 million official streams of the set's on-demand songs. Traditional album sales reached 19,500 units, while equivalent album units are a negligible amount. Both the streaming total and album sales are career-best news for the Houston native. (One unit equals the following consumption levels: one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 official paid/on-demand subscription audio and video streams for one song on the album.)
Hardstone Psycho, released on Cactus Jack/Atlantic Records, gives Don Toliver a first Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums champ after the rapper and singer's three previous releases each charted in the top five but failed to land the top spot. His debut full-length, Heaven or hellpeaked at No. 5, while the sophomore effort The Life of a Don reached No. 2 best and his third LP, Love sickpeaked at No. 4.
Somewhere else, Hardstone Psycho opens at No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart, where Don Toliver has his first leader, and at No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
The best start to the career Hardstone Psycho helping many of his tracks enter the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The current single, the previously released “Attitude,” featuring R&B legend Charlie Wilson and rising rapper Cash Cobain, rallies 36-16 in its fourth week on the chart. In addition to the new top, it wins the weekly Streaming Gainer award for the biggest increase in streams among non-debut titles on the chart. The collaboration jumps from 4.1 million streams in the US last week to 8.7 million for this viewing period, a 110% increase.
The top 20 appearance marks Wilson's highest Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart since “You Are” peaked at No. 13 in 2011. Cash Cobain also earns the youngster's highest result his career.
Nine Hardstone Psycho The songs debut on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 50. Beyond “Attitude,” another previously released single, “Bandit,” flies 35-21 in its 20th week on the chart, close to its No. 13 peak in February.
