Dr. Dre he will have to clear his name in court. His former therapist sued him for $10 million alleging harassment.
Rolling Stone Magazine it is reference that a California psychotherapist claims the rap legend caused him to suffer during his treatment. Dr. Charles Sofi says Dr. Dre enlisted his services in 2018 to help him with his then-ex-wife Nicole Young. The doctor says he worked “diligently, independently and fairly” to help the couple repair their failed union. In 2021 the meetings stopped when the two agreed to a divorce settlement.
About a year later Doctor says the business tycoon began contacting him again via text messages alleging he treated the couple immorally. “Instead of treating the mediation process as an opportunity for healing, Young decided to frustrate mediation on Dr. Sophie — frustrations that manifested in the form of a nearly year-long campaign of late-night texts, threats of intimidation and violence, and homophobic rhetoric,” the filing states. Sophie also believes he sent men posing as FBI agents to his home in an attempt to gain access to the property and threaten him.
In response, the lawyer of Dr. Dre, Howard King says Rolling Stone Magazine exclusively that “The Next Episode” rapper had filed a lawsuit against the doctor last year with the California Osteopathic Medical Board. “This complaint seeks to revoke the license of Dr. Sophie to provide mental health counseling to needy patients,” says Kind. “In flagrant violation of all applicable standards of care, Dr. Sophie entered into a contested divorce while simultaneously being 'treated'.”
