Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will remain forever connected musically, and their undeniable chemistry was on display once again during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics. In a new interview, Dr. Dre teased that the long-promised Missionary The album with Snoop Dogg will be released in November.
Dr. Dre, 59, spoke to me Entertainment Tonight about his surprise appearance with Snoop Dogg as the Summer Olympics wrapped up in Paris with the games being held in Los Angeles, California in 2028. The pre-recorded performance of “The Next Episode” was set against the backdrop of “LA 28” on his set Snoop hometown of Long Beach. The concert also featured HER, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Billie Eilish.
THE ET opened up with the producer praising Snoop for taking him out of his usual reclusive state in the studio to create magic on stage. Dre made sure to let it be known that when it comes to production and creation, he's the “captain” to use his own words, but once again showed respect to the Dog for his ability to deliver.
Later in the conversation, Dre shares details of his work Missionarywhich was originally billed as the follow-up to Snoop's 30th anniversary debut album Doggystyle, which took place in November 2023. Dre's goal now is to finish mixing between 14 and 16 songs for Missionary by September 1 to be ready to be released in November.
