Drake sat for deposition last year in connection with the Astroworld trial. In March, he formally requested to withdraw from the lawsuitsclaiming that he “received no security briefings, was not informed of crowd control problems, injuries or deaths in the crowd, or stop orders at any time before or during his 14-minute performance.”
The rapper's attorneys also wrote in their motion to dismiss, “Plaintiffs do not provide evidence that [Drake] was actually aware of any danger in the design and layout of the festival site, the skill or adequacy of the festival staff and personnel, or the emergency procedures such as the demonstration stop principle.'
Last summer, a Harris County grand jury declined to indict Travis Scott in connection with Astroworld.
