Drake he still has a legal matter on his hands. A clothing company has filed a lawsuit against him over his tour merchandise.
Rolling rock is reference that Champagne Papi was sued by JR Apparel World LLC; the company that owns the Members Only brand. According to the documents filed, the New York-based limited liability company claims the “First Person Shooter” rapper has infringed on the company's iconic trademark. They point out that Drizzy's Away From Home Touring Inc. produces tour products with the slogan “Members Only”.
Although the capsule collection does not feature apparel, JR Apparel claims that the slogan is confusing the market. “Away From Home's use of 'Members Only'…is likely to confuse, mislead and deceive consumers as to the origin of the infringing Away From Home T-shirts,” the filing states. “Out of Home sells…merchandise bearing the 'Members Only' mark that is identical, overlapping and/or very similar to the products sold by JR Apparel bearing its MEMBERS ONLY marks.”
The phrase is a direct reference to Drake's song of the same name from For all dogs which JR Apparel refers to in the complaint. “The fact that 'Members Only' is a song on Drake's album For all dogs does not eliminate the possibility of confusion or gives [him] license to use our client's 'Members Only' marks in such a confusing manner, particularly on or in connection with articles of clothing.”
Drake has yet to comment on the matter.
