Drake dropped another diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar.
On Friday (April 19), the same day his “Push Ups” officially hit streaming services, the superstar rapper shared another fiery song via social media. On “Taylor Made Freestyle,” the 6 God uses AI lyrics in the style of West Coast hip-hop icons Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg to further mock Lamar, who has yet to respond to his “Push Ups.”
“While we're waiting for you, I guess,” Drake captioned the clip Instagram.
“Taylor Made” opens with a Shakur faux pas that addresses the beef between K. Dot and Drizzy, which flared up with the Compton rapper's scorching “Like That” verse that set the rap game on fire and remains at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.
“Kendrick, we need you, the West Coast savior/ Etching your name into some hip-hop history/ If you take it mean/ You look a little nervous about all the publicity/ F— that Canadian light skin, Dot/ We need a West Coast win no talk man/ Say the ab—- for me,” AI Pac raps.
The fictional Makaveli then offers Lamar advice on how best to approach a diss response.
“Talk about him liking young girls, that's a gift from me/ I heard it on the Budden Podcast, it must be true,” AI Shakur raps. “They told me Makaveli's spirit is alive/ In n—- under 5'5″, so it must be you/ I'd take the whole game out.”
A faux Snoop comes in on the second verse to further push K. Dot to fight back and Drake.
“Gotta show this owl who's boss in the West/ Now it's time to really make a power move/ Cause right now it feels like you're writing the game plan on how to lose,” he raps. “People are watching this game of chess, but you got no moves?/ Perfect, you know the DOG never doubted you/ But right now it looks like you posted with no idea what you're asking me to do.”
Drizzy saves the last verse for himself, claiming his “Push Ups” diss “really only took me an hour or two” to write and “the next one is really 'to bring out the coward in you.' The 6 God then refers to Taylor Swift's new album that just came out, Department of Tormented Poetssuggesting that Lamar's lack of response is due to the overwhelming press surrounding her latest project.
“But now we gotta wait a week 'cause Taylor Swift's your new top/ And if you're gonna fall, she gotta approve/ That girl really 'bout to make you act like you ain't no match/ She's got the schedule you with Ant, you out of the loop,” Drake raps.
“Taylor Made Freestyle” is the follow-up to the Toronto MC's “Push Ups” record, which surfaced online in mid-April and targets Lamar, Future, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, Rick Ross.
