You couldn't wave a wand in Las Vegas last week without hitting a Phish fan who was totally freaking out about the band's exciting Sphere concerts. He certainly counts as a comedian and The price is right Host Drew Carey, among those whose minds were blown by the visual and musical spectacle the veteran Vermont jam band brought to the unique venue.
How do we know Carey really enjoyed his first Phish experience? Well, he described it in vivid, bizarre sexual detail in a rant on fellow comedian Taylor Tomlinson's late night show After midnight on Tuesday night. During the talk show segment where the contestants usually answer the host's funny questions, Tomlinson asked Carey “if they didn't shoot you right now, what would you say?”
That was all Carey needed to launch into a psychedelic monologue that had the typically unrelenting host looking amusingly shocked.
“Give me a minute. So I saw Phish at the Sphere this weekend. I never saw Phish, I didn't know a Phish tune, and they blew my mind so hard,” Carey said as he ran to the center of the stage and began animatedly walking and gesticulating like a religious person as Tomlinson went “ouch.” and fellow guest “Weird” Al Yankovic looked delightfully confused. “I had a bunch of girls with me and I thought that's what it is…” Carey said, as censors cut in to hear what appeared to be a graphic sexual description.
Carey certainly didn't stop there. “It was like being pushed around for four days straight. And then, just before the climax of the fourth day, an angel comes down from heaven, Gabriel, and he drops heroin on your arm, and he says, 'Good luck now mom!' And it goes away, and you have an orgasm for 15 minutes while your eyes roll out of your head!”
Cut to a shot of Tomlinson looking, well, amusingly freaked out, while the next five minutes of her show are completely, and hilariously, derailed by Carey's crack-up as Thomas Lennon (Renault 911!) couldn't stop making jokes about puns. “Next time they play the Sphere, you better not miss it,” Carey advised. “It's been so great and we can definitely use it all, absolutely, absolutely we can.” Tomlinson joked.
“HR wants to talk to all of you,” Lennon said.
What he couldn't use was an earlier one from Carey on Monday, in which he got even more graphic. “I swear I just talked to god I'd give you all my money, put my dk in a blender and swear off py for the rest of my life in exchange for it,” Carey wrote along with the video of the show . saw. “Brother, I really met God tonight. I feel like Jesus saved me without lying.”
