What is really going on? I'm Billboard's Associate Director of R&B/Hip-Hop, Mr. Carl Lamarre, and we're here with Brother E-40. How are you; How are you feeling overall, mate?
E-40:
I feel good, man. I really feel good. I'm happy. I'm in a happy place. God is great.
Carl Lamar:
This year… 50 years of hip-hop. You're celebrating a lot of wins, but I'm just curious: In general, what does 50 years of hip-hop mean to you?
E-40
Um, it means everything. They didn't think to get this far, you know? It is now the #1 music genre. Hip-hop, man, you see it in commercials, you see it in movies, you see it everywhere. All related to sports and entertainment and from the urban community. And watch it now! It has even become suburban — it is everywhere like air. You can't get away from it, man! Fifty years — shout out to… Kool Herc and the founders of hip-hop. Thanks!
