Ed Sheeran, who is no stranger to thinking out loud, recently shared a Instagram post depicting him playing Pokémon on a giant LED screen at one of the stadiums on Sheeran’s current “+–=÷x Tour” in Europe — and telling the camera: “If I wasn’t a musician, I’d be a virgin.”
Sheeran (or actually, someone on his team) plugged a Nintendo Switch into the stadium screen, which is normally reserved for showing the venue’s main event action. Instead, Sheeran was more concerned with the Pokémon action, perhaps serving as a much-needed pre-show ritual and stress reliever. Fittingly, Sheeran was playing the Nintendo 64 game. Pokemon Stadiumand in the clip, it looked like he was in the middle of a battle.
The musician captioned the post leaning into the “people who like video games have no friends and are virgins” archetype, writing, “Pokémon stadium in the stadium #superawesomewickedcool #wannacometomybirthdayparty #itlbefunpromise #cake.” See his post below.
