Ed Sheeran honored outgoing Warner Music Group chief executive Max Lousada at the Music in Business UK Awards. Keep watching to catch a glimpse of his speeches.
Narrator:
Ed Sheeran took to the stage at the “Music in Business UK Awards” to honor his friend and former Warner Music Group CEO Max Lousada. Max has helped shape the careers of many of today's superstars such as Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Charlie XCX and of course Ed Sheeran to name a few. And he had this to say.
Ed Sheeran:
They don't make people like him anymore, music people. And if they do, they only appear once per generation. It's not about having a great marketing brain or understanding algorithms or jumping into new and trendy things. It's about recognizing what are great songs and who are great artists and allowing them to grow.
Narrator:
The event was a love-filled affair, and Max shared a few words after accepting his awards.
Max Lousada:
I really wanted to dedicate this as a music executive and, more importantly, as a music fan, to everyone who supports new artists who have something to say.
Narrator:
Congratulations to Max. And stay tuned to Billboard News for the latest.
