EDM.com's official promotion of 2024 has been revealed.
For those unfamiliar, our annual class is neither an index of up-and-coming SoundCloud beatmakers nor a trite list of “artists to watch.” It's a list of 10 musicians with transformative abilities who are about to change the fabric of electronic dance music.
Through their workhorse mentality and defiance of industry standards, these future innovative artists have already demonstrated their volcanic potential on the scene and are now ready to erupt.
Members of EDM.com's Class of 2024 are Camden Cox, DJ Susan, Hamdi, Hedex, HoneyLuv, Kenya Grace, Levity, Nitefreak, Of The Trees and Sara Landry. Continue to read more about each artist and discover their music.
Camden Cox
Prolific singer-songwriter Camden Cox has the profound ability to instill a tangible joy (or aching melancholy) that lingers long after the music stops. Artfully bottling those conflicting emotions like fireflies in a jar on a dark night, Cox's limitless lyricism has led to collaborations with deadmau5, John Summit and Vintage Culture, among other superstar dance music producers.
DJ Susana
If you've ever seen him perform live, you can attest that no one does it like DJ Susan. Bombarding crowds with a relentless barrage of her nostalgic-tinged tech house beats, every one of her wild DJ sets can be filed under the “you had to be there” category. With an effervescent stage presence and production skills to match, Susan, who also runs the influential Hood Politics Records, somehow makes everyone feel like the life of the party.
Hamdi
Hamdi has furiously emerged from the UK underground to become a true pioneer whose approach to electronic music production is precipitating a real-time paradigm shift. Gliding on the frenetic wings of his smash hit “Skanka,” he's leading legions of hungry producers toward a full-blown 140 BPM dubstep revival, turning back the clock to the genre's golden days while reinventing it for a new generation.
hedex
Fueled by the roaring beats of their smash drum & bass hit, “MHITR (Semi-Automatic),” Hedex is on an unassailable rampage through the genre's upper echelon as it continues its global explosion. The song's namesake, “My Home is the Rave”, has become a popular mantra for the drum & bass community and its Cambridgeshire-born creator is set to become one of the culture's long-time standard bearers .
honeyluv
HoneyLuv is leading the charge for a generation of house music producers who draw on the past to speak to the present. With lyrics celebrating sensuality and self-love layered over soulful production, his music and style exude fearlessness, leading to the support of the likes of Duke Dumont, Mark Knight, and Seth Troxler, among many other influential producers.
kenya grace
Crafting liquid drum & bass ballads from her bedroom, Kenya Grace envelops listeners in hazy soundscapes where her chilling vocal hooks linger like an icy winter fog. It's rare to discover generational artists like Grace, whose smash hit “Strangers” became the first song in the history of Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart written, produced and sung solely by a woman. And it's scary to think that she's just getting started: her upcoming Coachella debut will blow the doors off her incredible potential.
Lightness
Producing upbeat rhythms that mutate into bitey bass anthems, Levity masterfully fuses sunlight and lightning under one musical umbrella. After an impromptu DJ set at Electric Forest 2023 launched the trio into the stratosphere, they've been pumping out hits like a broken printer while building a lush community based on compassion rather than competition.
Nitefreak
Nitefreak weaves sun-kissed melodies through moonlit beats, creating raw afrohouse that shines with ancient wisdom. His sensual beats spring from deep roots to tell visceral stories from his home in Zimbabwe, earning him support from Black Coffee, Keinemusik, Tiësto and many more elite producers.
of the trees
Beneath a canopy of hypnotic bass and whispering percussion, Of The Trees' music plants rhythmic seeds that take root in the fertile soil of your dancing feet. With a brand of his own and a sound that sinks its mysterious tendrils into your brain, this virtuoso producer is on an upward trajectory whose heights surpass even the tallest trees.
Sarah Landry
Sara Landry, affectionately called the “High Priestess of Hard Techno” by her fans, is taking the genre to places it has never been before. A favorite of the iconic Boiler Room, she fearlessly pushes the tempo to the limit, producing a raging sound that infiltrates your consciousness with the relentless energy of a bullet train.
