An immersive Elvis Presley concert using AI and hologram technology will open in London later this year.
The late King of Rock and Roll will be brought to life using AI, holographic projections, augmented reality, live theatre and multi-sensory effects for Elvis Evolution.
British immersive entertainment specialists Layered Reality described the event as a “jaw-dropping concert experience” where a life-sized digital Elvis “will perform iconic moments in musical history on a UK stage for the first time”.
Layered Reality’s founder and CEO Andrew McGuinness told the BBC that the show would be “a next-generation tribute to the musical legend” and allow people to “step into the world of Elvis and walk in his shoes”.
Utilising thousands of Presley’s personal photos and videos, the experience would offer the public a “deeper insight into Elvis’s life, transporting fans back through the decades to experience his meteoric rise to fame, larger-than-life persona, and the cultural movement he catalysed in the 1950s and 1960s”.
Elvis Evolution will open in London in November at a central London location which has yet to be confirmed. The venue will also host an Elvis-themed bar and restaurant with live music.
After London, the experience will move on to Las Vegas, Berlin and Tokyo.
The concept follows on from the success of ABBA Voyage, a concert starring virtual avatars of the Swedish group. The highly popular show opened in a purpose-built venue called the ABBA Arena in London in May 2022.
Presley died in 1977 aged 42.
