Eminem He has long since become cemented as one of Hip-Hop's most successful acts, and has done so despite intense scrutiny over his lyrical choices and subject matter. Leaning into the more offensive parts of the Slim Shady character, Eminem delivers his latest studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) and Xitter is already abuzz with comments on this latest project.
Eminem, 51, began teasing the album's release earlier in the year, thinking it was a concept album centered around the Detroit lyricist ditching the Slim Shady persona, choosing to go all out with joy. Heavily produced by Eminem along with frequent production collaborator Luis Resto, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) also features production from Denaun Porter, Dr. Dre, Dem Jointz, FredWreck and others.
At this point, most people should know what to expect from Eminem when it comes to albums. There are plenty of pop culture references, direct responses to critics, addressing fan concerns, and taking shots at other entertainers who may not be in great favor with the public, like Diddy, R. Kelly, and more.
Features such as JID, Bizarre, Skylar Grey, Jelly Roll, Big Sean, BabyTron, White Gold and Sly Pyper round out the feature list along with sketches that combine the concept of discarding the Slim Shady persona. It also wouldn't be an Eminem album without some heartwarming track, and “Temporary” fits the bill with lyrics directed at Em's grown daughter, Hailie Jade.
