Eminem has released another of his limited edition digital albums The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) on Wednesday (July 17). The rapper takes it back to his roots when he reconnects with a distraught Steve Berman, who appears in another skit, which has been added to this latest version of the album.
The Interscope Records VP originally joined Slim Shady for one skit named after him in the 2000s The Marshall Mathers LPand made another appearance at D-12's Night of the Devil. It re-emerges into one Show Eminem parody in 2002, where Em shoots Steve. After some time, Berman returns of 2009 Relapse after losing feeling in his right hand after the figurative gun shots.
It's been over a decade, and they're back – again – and still fighting as usual. Em had some fun with the digital album announcement, which finds Berman nagging the Detroit legend about his LP and eventually convincing him to make another guest appearance.
“Shouldn't you be dead?” Berman jokes. “How are you going to put out another album without me?”
Em finally obliges, “Okay, man, I'll fix it.”
“Ok @steveberman.. Fixed it,” Em added on social media. “Get the new digital album #TheDeathOfSlimShady- STEVE BERMAN Edition! Includes BOTH bonus tracks #1 and #2 + an exclusive skit with Steve. Only available at shop.eminem.com until THURSDAY. at midnight ET!”
The latest digital album comes with bonus tracks — “Like My S–t” and “Kyrie & Luka” featuring 2 Chainz. Fans will have the chance to purchase the limited edition LP until Thursday night (July 18).
The Death of Slim Shady It served as Em's 12th LP and first since 2020 Music to be murdered by. The rapper is on course for his 10th straight Billboard 200 hit if he can overtake Taylor Swift for the No. 1 slot.
