Veteran ESPN Executive Raina Kelley has agreed to become its new editor-in-chief PULSE beginning of next year.
According VarietyRaina Kelley will join the acclaimed Hip-Hop and R&B edition, PULSE, as its new editor-in-chief. Kelly was previously editor in chief at And landscapeESPN's digital hub covering the intersection of culture, race and sports.
Prior to this role, Kelley had worked as a media commentator and writer, from scratch Newsweek and his website newsweek.com, which she joined as assistant editor in 2003. The veteran was also the managing editor of The invinciblehis predecessor And landscape, as well as senior editor for ESPN The Magazine when he joined the company in 2011.
“Vibe was founded to put hip-hop and other forms of Black expression on the record as art forms that dominate the world,” Kelley said in a statement. “It's an absolute pleasure and honor to step in as editor-in-chief of this. esteemed brand and expand its reach beyond music — everywhere hip-hop is already on the rise.” He will start on January 2 and work from VIBE's offices in New York, reporting to Ramin Setoodeh and Cynthia Littleton, who are editorial directors PULSE as well as co-editors at Variety.

Kelley takes over for Datwon Thomas as he enters a new position as editor for PULSE and the executive producer for talent at Dick Clark Productions. Movements are coordinated with PULSE joining the Penske Media Corporation in 2020, which includes other notable publications such as Billboard, Variety and Hollywood Reporter.
