Stump was previously in the podcast in 2021, where he shared a cover of “Sellout” by Reel Big Fish. Now the singer is back and has a lot more to say about his love of ska music. Stump talks about how his appreciation began while growing up in Chicago in the '90s, and he shared with the hosts some of his favorite bands from that era. He also celebrates Chuck Wren's “Everything Off Beat” radio show, which helped him expand his knowledge and admiration for the genre.
The FOB frontman also details how different ska bands have inspired him and his work. He gushes about Fishbone, one of his favorite bands, and explains that he feels they are more complex than people realize. Plus, Stump talks about his love for the Blue Meanies and how he was blown away when he met their guitarist Sean Dolan. He even wore a Blue Meanies t-shirt during Fall Out Boy's last tour.
