Welcome back to Fan Chant, a weekly column for K-pop fans, followers, and newbies. This week I want to hear from you! There has never been a better time to subscribe to my complimentary newsletter to get Fan Chant delivered straight to your inbox each week.
What's the one song you can't get out of your head these days, besides Sabrina Carpenter's “Espresso”? Has there been a K-pop release that turned you from a casual listener to a total fan? (I'll never forget the first time I heard Felix's voice in the second verse of “God's Menu”). Who do you think dropped the best K-pop rap verse of 2024 so far, or delivered an award-worthy music video moment? ?
If I'm lucky, these are questions you'll be able to answer for me. I know everything my answers, but I was curious to know what songs Fan Chant readers haven't been able to pause lately. As we move through the spring, I decided it might be fun to share a reader survey and take a broader pulse of K-pop for mid-2024, which in some ways is already arriving in just a few months.
The survey will be emailed out in the coming weeks, so if you're interested in shouting out your favorite bands or shining a spotlight on an underrated release, be sure to subscribe today to make sure you receive it. Once we have an interesting set of data and opinions, we will share the results right here in the column.
I can't wait to see what you liked and share the best results!
