TWICE's “I Got You” tops this week's new music poll.
Music fans voted in a poll published on Friday (February 2). Advertising signpicking the K-pop group's fun new single as their favorite new music release of the past week.
“I Got You” garnered 84% of the vote, beating out new music from Keith Urban (“Straight Line”), Billy Joel (“Turn the Lights Back On”), Usher with the Pheelz (“Ruin”), Don Toliver (“Robber”) and others.
“I Got You” is the final track from TWICE's 13th mini album, WITH YOUwhich is scheduled to be released on February 13. The catchy, dizzying song builds on the success of the nine-piece's previous English-language singles by playing up their melodic strengths and doubling down on the more enjoyable parts of the synth-pop production, creating a flashpoint that could very well cross over to US platforms.
The high-energy tribute to friendship is the follow-up to TWICE's previous track “The Feels,” which saw the collective debut on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 83) and “Moonlight Sunrise” (No. 84).
The JYP Entertainment group is in the middle of their Ready To Be world tour, which visits Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo on February 6-7, and then plays Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on March 16.
Following “Selfish” in the poll is Urban's new song “Straight Line,” which garnered 8% of the vote. The first track from the country veteran's next studio album takes his traditional formula and injects some adrenaline, with a driving beat and some wooooooo-hoo's in the post-chorus.
