Fireboy DML Adedamula tops this week's new music poll.
Music fans voted in a poll published on Friday (August 30). Bulletin boardchoosing the Nigerian singer-songwriter's latest studio album as their favorite new music release of the past week.
August may be gone like a bottle of wine, but the end-of-summer tunes are still sinking in as September begins.
In this latest poll, Fireboy's new album DML garnered more than 62% of the votes. Voters this week chose Adedamula over new music releases from Victoria Monét and Usher, A$AP Rocky, Noah Kahan, Big Sean and more.
Its title Adedamula is Fireboy DML's birth name. He was born Adedamola Adefolahan and condensed the 'Damola' part of his first name to 'DML' for his stage name.
The set has the artist (known for his 2022 smash 'Peru', which took off worldwide with a remix featuring Ed Sheeran) take his journey and relationships personally across 14 tracks, with features from Seun Kuti (on ' Ecstacy”), Lojay (“Letting Go”), Lagbaja (“Back n Forth”), Jon Batiste (“Ready”, “Jon's Interlude”) and Spinall (“Wande's Bop”).
Adedamula it was also an editor's choice in Friday's Music Guide.
Among the new music that follows Adedamula in this week's poll are Victoria Monét and Usher's collaboration on the single 'SOS', with 8% of the vote, A$AP Rocky's track 'Tailor Swif', with 3% of the vote and Noah Kahan. Live from Fenway Park album, with 2% of the vote.
