Jhayco's latest single “Torii” tops this week's new Latin music poll.
In a poll posted Friday (May 31) — in support of the weekly New Music Latin compilation and playlist, curated by Advertising sign Latin and Billboard Español editors — music fans voted for the Puerto Rican artist's latest track as their favorite music release of the week.
“Torii” garnered nearly 25% of the vote beating new releases that dropped this week, including Grupo Firme's “El Beneficio de la Duda,” Manu Chao and Junior H's “Viva Tu” and Oscar Maydon's ” Volver al Futuro”. In addition, new albums from Carín León (Boca Chueca, Vol. 1), Manuel Medrano (Perfecto) and Olga Tañón (Así Soy Yo).
In second place in the voting was “Torai” by Marca Registrada, with 19% of the votes and in third, the album by Mau y Ricky. Caracas Hotel with almost 15% of the vote. ,
Formerly known as Jhay Cortez, the hitmaker delivers a euphoric club-ready jingle that thrives on throbbing reggaetón drum beats. It follows previously released collaborations such as KTM featuring Bryant Myers and Luar La L and “BBY BOO (Remix)” featuring iZaak and Anuel AA. “Torii” — co-produced by Smash David, Bayden and Argel — serves as a preview of what's to come for Jhayco, who is set to release a new album in 2021 Timelezz.
Last week, music fans voted Cris MJ's latest single “Si No Es Contigo” as their favorite music release. The song collected almost all the votes leading it with 95%.
