Fher Olvera of Maná sat down with Billboard's Director of Latin/Spanish Content, Leila Cobo, to talk about the band México Lindo y Querido's tour, writing their hit song “En El Muelle de San Blas”, their new album, working with Christian Nodal, his opinion on reggaeton and more.
Mother Olvera:
There is so much history in this room, if this bed could talk.
Leila Cobo:
Fher, Hello. Welcome to billboard.
Mother Olvera:
Thank you very much for the invitation.
Leila Cobo:
Where we are?
Mother Olvera:
This is my house, your house. We are in a place called Luna Líquida in the very heart of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is a beautiful town where I had many, many beautiful experiences in this house. Many Maná songs from the first album were created in this room. Where will the children play? Many songs were made from that album, all the music we had, our small recorders at that time, some were even cassettes but they were multitrack and here we put the whole model together.
Leila Cobo:
Right here, you four.
Mother Olvera:
Yes, the four of us. We slept everywhere, some had to share double beds, and our routine was to be here every day, very early, drinking coffee in the morning and wine at night.
Leila Cobo:
Obviously.
Mother Olvera:
There is also a very interesting story in this room. We went to a nightclub, one of those nightclubs that end very late. We left around 7 in the morning.
