Former NBA player Nate “The Great” Robinson is currently fighting for his life, and if he doesn't get help soon, the two-time Slam Dunk Champion knows his days are numbered.
Two years after announcing his kidney failure diagnosis, the former New York Knicks said Mail Sports that his search for a new kidney didn't go well and that if he doesn't get a replacement soon, he won't be with us much longer. Relying on weekly dialysis to keep him going, Robinson hopes to find a new kidney before it's too late.

“I know I don't have long if I can't get a kidney,” Robinson told Mail Sport exclusively. “I know I'm not going to live long. So I want to do it the best I can.
He continued, “some people's bodies reject dialysis. And thank God mine accepted it and I can live… if I hadn't been on dialysis I probably wouldn't have lived more than a week or two. So it's serious, I can't miss a single day. I go in four hours, three days a week, four hours a day. And they clean my blood to get my toxins out. And they help me a lot because this is how I live.”
Robinson, who spoke on behalf of Bet365, shared that he experiences frequent, painful vomiting as a result of dialysis treatment, which often leaves him in hospital for a day or two.
It's sad.
They are praying for Nate Robinson as he searches for a kidney and a new lease on life as he moves through his fight. We're glad the man is keeping his positive attitude and spirits up as he continues to keep hope alive that he'll get his wish. More than Correspondence Sports:
'THE [dialysis] The machine has helped my longevity and life right now,” he said. “So I just enjoy the moments when I feel healthy. I try to get out there with my kids, see my family and play basketball, do the things I love.
And I'm still trying to do everything I can to stay and feel as normal as I can, stay as human as I can.”
In the meantime, Nate says he's changed his diet to keep his health in check. She eats fruit and grilled proteins, such as chicken and fish, while staying away from processed foods.
Keep up the good fight, fam.
