When Fred once again announced his first stadium show, everyone knew it would deliver a wonderful avalanche of summer moments to share with friends. But few could have expected such massive success, even by the British superstar's lofty standards.
Friday's event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was proof of how much his fans have come to love him, too. Despite the fanfare of their debut stadium concert, and with almost sold-out tickets, it was full of intimate moments.
Under the lights of the Memorial Coliseum and the columns of mythical smoke, Fred appeared and reappeared in different places in the arena. Throughout the night's countless “once with Fred again…” moments, more than 100,000 people were swept away by his pensive sound.
He even suddenly materialized in the stands to serenade attendees up close in the cheap seats, like when he and Obongjayar performed their fan-favorite collaboration, “adore u.”

Some, however, got too excited. Near the end of the evening, a stream of fans made their way to an elevated walkway that ran along the inner circumference of the stadium. The floorboards creaked under the weight of so many as Fred prepared for a fireworks-laden climax.
Seeing the danger present, the venue's security team sprang into action and suddenly stopped the show. It was certainly a big stir, but it may have saved more than a few lives, as the walkway, which was clearly not designed to accommodate so many people, was visibly collapsing from its scaffolding as the smoke cleared. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

It was a rare moment that revealed the caliber of the security team the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum kept in place. It also showed the admiration and respect that Fred once again has for his Ride-or-Die fans.
And while it seemed a little depressing at the time when the music had to stop, it's likely a memory those fans will tell their friends about for a long, long time.
