A French Music Week in Paris could be held as early as 2025, according to recent statements by the country's president, Emmanuel Macron.
Summits like Miami Music Week and the iconic Amsterdam Dance Event bring together fans, artists and industry professionals from around the world. They regularly feature a variety of panels and discussions alongside shows and festivals, and are crucial hubs for electronic dance music enthusiasts to network and, of course, dance until the sun comes up.
Macron has now revealed that a French “Music Week” is taking shape. Attending the Fête de la Musique festival in France on June 21, the French president said that an event could be held in the country’s capital next year.
“I think we have to go even further,” Macron said. Radio FG In comments translated from French: “I would like us to create a big festival like the one we do in Miami or Amsterdam, which first of all allows all music professionals to come together, for example for Fashion Week, and to hold very large concerts and festivals in the days before… the music festival.”
Macron went on to praise the French electronic music scene, crediting artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre and David Guetta for their influential work on a global scale.
It is important to note that neither Macron nor his administration have formally announced a French “Music Week” at the time of writing.
