Moving Base OT is an east coast hip hop duo consisting of Fuego Base & OT the Real. The latter of which has been making noise in the underground for the past several years now either The Irishmanthe Maxed Out and the other debuted a year ago signed to Black Soprano Family Records and became Hartford, Connecticut Biggest from Camby. OT eventually signed to B$F, enlisting araabMUZIK to debut for the label Vampire last fall. Fast forward 8 months later, he and Fuego team up to debut together.
After the introduction of “Real Sopranos”, the first song “Arithmetic” starts off the album jumping over a raw boom bap instrumental talking about every dummy who wants to be a loser and 2 rappers who got stuck in one night and weren't them, while “Battle Scars” featuring Benny the Butcher finds the trio morbidly warning that those who think they are safe are in fact finished. “Hometeam” continues to talk about bail jumping and breaking the bond while everyone else was playing Pokémon, but then “Bodies” raps about catching 1 body after another.
“Overpass” with Rick Hyde strongly advises to let the junkies loose as it's already rampant here and leads into “Pirouette” with Allstar da Great sulking about a brick that's all natural and a neck-breaking bitch after smelling it. “John Doe” featuring Sule brings the trio together with kicks and snares that showcase dudes driving their girls' cars like they own them, just before “BrownStone” aggressively tells the listener that it's either us or them and choose a side. “Keith Sweat” ends the LP with hard-hitting details about just how powerful coke is.
These guys have always crossed paths with each other since they're obviously both signed to the same label, so I wasn't opposed to the idea of bringing them both together for the duration of an entire album, and hopefully Moving Base OT's debut here is the first of many to come. The production is firmly focused on the traditional east coast sound, 75% of the features bring their own flavor to the table and each MC elevates each other lyrically.
