We Belong Here has been bringing house music lovers together on Miami’s beautiful Virginia Key Beach for the past three years, hosting sunny and joyful events for the city’s thriving electronic community. Now, the beloved events brand is hosting its first-ever festival experience in New York City.
The event, which will take place at Central Park’s Wollman Rink, is scheduled for October 4-6. With its lush greenery and panoramic views of the city skyline, the famous ice skating rink has origins dating back to the 1950s and remains an integral part of Central Park’s vibrant environment.
After announcing headliners Kaskade, FISHER and Monolink over the summer, We Belong Here have now announced the full lineup for the festival. Joining them in the Big Apple in the fall will be Stephan Bodzin, Anabel Englund, Dombresky and Lipless, among others.
These acts will be presented at We Belong Here 360° signature scenarioa classic at their annual festival in Miami. Check out the schedule below.
We Belong Here's selection of this special location aligns with its boutique approach, choosing unique and exclusive venues to host your unforgettable events.
“We’re creating a refined festival experience in New York that is truly for all New Yorkers, with fans at the forefront of every decision,” said Justin Dauman, co-founder of We Belong Here. “We’ve worked tirelessly over the past two years of planning to strike a balance between the most well-received aspects of our Miami festival and an artistic environment that is true to the cultural diversity of the city.”
“As born New Yorkers, Justin and I dreamed of hosting an event like this,” added co-founder Charles Hochfelder. “Our team is ready to produce an unforgettable experience that embodies the energy and spirit of New York City through music, nature, history, dance and culture. We are grateful for the unique opportunity that the NYC Parks Department and Wollman Rink have given us, and we will use this platform to create a profound positive impact in the New York City community.”
According to a press release, a portion of the proceeds from the events will go toward funding fully-paid scholarships for economically disadvantaged city residents to attend Scratch Academy. Founded by Jam Master Jay, the late DJ of the legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC, the school now helps aspiring musicians learn key skills to launch their careers in music.
“Community festivals like these bring people together, foster a sense of belonging, cultural exchange, and community bonds. They create new opportunities and enrich the life of our diverse city for generations to come,” said Tricia Shimamura, NYC Parks Manhattan Borough Commissioner. “Not only will this festival provide an unforgettable experience for New Yorkers in an inclusive environment, but it will also help underprivileged residents of the city attend Scratch Academy, where they can learn performance and business skills for a music career.”
