Apple Original Films is preparing a new documentary detailing the history of the legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac.
Billed as “fully authorized” by the band and directed by Frank Marshall (who previously directed documentaries for The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, and Carole King and James Taylor), the film will examine both the origins and legacy of Fleetwood Mac. It will also include conversations with Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, as well as archival interviews with the late Christine McVie and never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage.

“I am fascinated by how this incredible story of enormous musical achievement came to be,” Marshall said in a statement. “Fleetwood Mac somehow managed to merge their often chaotic and almost operatic personal lives into their own real-time story, which later became legend. “This will be a movie about music and the people who created it.”
At the moment, there is no set date for the film's release, nor an official title for the project.
The history of Fleetwood Mac is famous for its drama, particularly when it comes to the relationship between Buckingham and Nicks. Last month, Nicks said he “dealt with Lindsey for as long as possible.” [she] could” and gave him “more than 300 million opportunities.” He also confirmed that a full Fleetwood Mac reunion was off the table.

At this time, Nicks is the only member with live performances scheduled: a co-headlining date with Billy Joel at Detroit's Ford Field on March 29. Look for offers or sold out tickets here.
