Bristol, Connecticut emcee Fury along with Detroit, Michigan emcee/producer Tre Lb. The latest to kick off alongside Southwest Sol as 1/2 of Chop Shop is the younger brother of Psychopathic Records co-founder Shaggy 2 Dope of the Insane Clown Posse with the other being the founder of Leathal Wreckords, the organizer of Leathal Weekend. festival held in New Hampshire for nearly 10 years and even 1/2 of Something Awful along with Bizarre of former D12 fame. We'd never heard the two party together on wax before, but ever since Tre appeared at Leathal Weekend 5 with his brother two years ago, I've been more than open to it. You already know heading to it.
“Burning Bridges” makes the EP jump over pianos and hi-hats, explaining that the bridge is burnt so you can't cross the river at all, while Tre Lb's self-produced “Rydin' Though” goes into a cloudy trap organically. to talk about taking shots and creating the show that will pop up as soon as they get to the point. “Laughing to the Grave” with Dr. Gigglez brings a hellish tone to the beat by finding humor in things that aren't appropriate, and “Stars” wraps it all up by talking deeply about flying when you look at the night sky.
1/12 & The Return of the Absent Minded Producer are great places to start for any underground head who isn't already familiar with Fury or Tre Lb respectively, but to hear them cross paths with each other over the course of an EP that ends up becoming my favorite work either one of both of which he has since done the last 2 I mentioned earlier. The production's two more trap-based MCs match each other's intensity and fans for the 7th installment of Leathal Weekend later this summer headlined by the newly reformed Kottonmouth Kings, Monday Night RAW Superstar/WWE World Tag Team Champion R-Truth of the Awesome Truth, Bizarre, Esham & Mastamind and King Gordy.
