It's been almost nine months since Future Islands released their seventh studio album, People who are no longer hereNow, the band is back with a new independent single titled “Glimpse.”
Recorded during the sessions of People who are no longer here“Glimpse” captures Future Islands’ dreamy electronic sound, with a bouncy, danceable beat, a retro synth countermelody and vocalist Sam Herring’s signature growl. Lyrically, it deals with a sense of loss and communal memory, describing the burning of a family home and building to a poignant climax: “Let the green grass cover me… Who’s left to mourn?”
