Gareth Emery invites you to his electronic Eden, LSR/CITY V3.
The trance-bound wizard began his magical tour with a laser show that puts Gandalf's fireworks to shame. The opening ceremony of Emery's 16-date North American tour took place on February 10 in front of a sold-out crowd at Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum.
LSR/CITY V3 captures the essence of its name and transports you to a colorful and futuristic utopia. What stands out most about Emery's production is the deliberation with which it is programmed: every laser and light was meticulously designed with the music in mind. Nothing felt out of place and everything worked in harmony. The experience was further developed with scripted videos scattered throughout the set.

Emery struck a wonderful balance with his song selection. He seamlessly transitioned between songs, creating a holistic experience that sucked you into the uplifting atmosphere of LSR/CITY.
This trance line was occasionally punctuated by beloved anthems like “You'll Be OK” and “house in the streetlight,” elevated by Annabel's mesmerizing live vocals. When the moment required a detour, Emery surprised with a stimulating remix of “Paradise City” by Guns N' Roses and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” by Daft Punk.
LSR/CITY 3 was a cathartic experience, an impeccable production apart from some crowding.
Emery once claimed Putting together a 30-second section of their V2 tour took a week of work. That attention to detail is fully realized on LSR/CITY V3, a rare tour that has something for everyone. Electronic dance music is theater and there may be no show that embodies it better than LSR/CITY V3.
