Electronic music pioneer, revered composer and renowned musician Gary Numan will embark on a special celebration to mark the 45th anniversary of his iconic albums. The pleasure principle and Replicaswith a headlining show in Belfast announced for May 17, 2024.
Due to huge demand, Gary has announced a series of additional dates across the UK, including a second date in London and a third in Manchester, plus new shows in Liverpool and Leeds. Improvements have also been confirmed at the Glasgow and Newcastle sites.
Launched in 1979, The pleasure principle and Replicas are cornerstones of the electronic music genre, fusing synth-driven soundscapes with dark, introspective lyrics that have transcended generations. These albums catapulted Numan to international stardom, establishing him as a visionary artist and influencing countless musicians who followed him, including Prince, Nine Inch Nails and more.
The tour, which spans 13 cities, including a show in their hometown of London at Camden's Roundhouse, promises a potent mix of tracks from both albums, including era-defining “Cars,” “Are 'Friends' Electric?” ”, “Down In the Park” and “Metal.”
Numan remains a vital force in music. In 2017, he received the prestigious Inspiration Award at Ivor Novellos, plus a host of praise for his No. 2 album. Intruder and his remarkable autobiography (R)EVOLUTION, which further solidifies his status as a true visionary. His live performances are renowned for his energy and raw emotion. His acoustic tour last year gave fans a unique insight into a different version of his vast repertoire, but now, in 2024, Gary is firmly back with his full show to mark the milestone anniversary of The pleasure principle and Replicas.
