Taylor Swift's show at Wembley Stadium in London was star-studded on June 23, with Travis Kelce making a surprise appearance on stage before “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” and Gracie Abrams surprising the crowd for her live debut of her collaboration with Swift, “Ours.”
Abrams joined SiriusXM to discuss the performance, revealing that Kansas City Chiefs tight ends playfully reassured her before taking the stage. “Before we both went on, we were on stage, and he was like — he went on right before me, I think, two songs or something. She's like, 'I'm going to make you look really good,'” she recalls.
The singer added of the Eras tour, “The thing is, it's just a community of really supportive people. Really, everybody, whether you're on stage or in the front row of the stadium, it's like everybody's there because there's such a deep joy and emotion that's attached to all the music that he's put out over the last 18 years and it's like, I don't know. It is a truly magical thing.”
“Us” appears on Abram's 13-track second studio album Our secret, which was released a few days ago. The night they wrote the duet will be hard to forget, as the songwriting session ended in flames: a candle started a small fire in the kitchen that Swift managed to put out herself with a fire extinguisher.
Abrams, 24, spent the summer opening for Swift's The Eras tour, a role he will reprise on select North American dates later this fall. She will embark on her own tour headlining theater venues across the United States, beginning September 5th in Portland.
Our secret features the previously released tracks “Risk” and “Close to You,” which debuted at No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is the follow-up to Abrams' debut Good riddance, which arrived in February 2023, peaking at No. 52 on the Billboard 200.
