Gracie Abrams is known and loved by Swifties everywhere for her first supporting role Taylor Swift'small The Eras tour.
TayTay returns the favor on collaborative new single “Us,” which dropped at midnight alongside the rest of Abrams' new album Our secret.
Abrams and Swift co-wrote “Us,” the gem from Abrams' 13-track sophomore studio LP, with musical input from National producer, collaborator and mutual friend Aaron Dessner.
“Us” is an anthemic folk number, with polished pop production. And it is undeniably the work of TayTay.
On it, Abrams and Swift sing, “I know you know / I felt like something old / I felt like something holy, like souls bleeding” / So I felt like what I knew / You're twenty-nine years old / So how can you be cold when do I open my house?'
“It was really fun to see Gracie and Taylor's chemistry bounce off each other,” says Dessner. Advertising sign, “Gracie watches in utter wonder and awe as Taylor records and produces her vocal performances and builds the world.” stream “Us” below.
Abrams, 24, spent the summer opening for Swift's The Eras tour, a role he will reprise on select North American dates later this fall. She will embark on her own tour headlining theater venues across the United States, beginning September 5th in Portland.
“Taylor is great at putting together a whole story,” Dessner continues over his Zoom with Advertising sign. “Us” simply “brought everything” on Gracie's album “to the fore in a beautiful way.”
Our secret features the previously released tracks “Risk” and “Close to You,” which debuted at No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is the follow-up to Abrams' debut Good riddance, which arrived in February 2023, peaking at No. 52 on the Billboard 200.
