Green Day's 13th No. 1 on Advertising signAlternative Airplay's Alternative Airplay chart comes from “Dilemma,” which tops the count dated May 4.
Green Day first ruled Alternative Airplay with its debut, “Longview,” for a week in June 1994, marking the band's first of two No. 1s that year. “Basket Case” stood on the field for five weeks two months later.
The trio take sole possession of the second-most reigns in the 35-year history of the Alternative Airplay chart, breaking out of a tie with Foo Fighters and Linkin Park.

“Dilemma” is Green Day's first No. 1 since “Oh Yeah!” reigned for one week in April 2020. Between the two, the band reached No. 28 with “Pollyanna” in 2021, followed by “The American Dream Is Killing Me” (No. 2, last November).
At the same time, “Dilemma” leads Mainstream Rock Airplay for a second week. It also tops the all-rock audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart for a fifth week with 8 million audience impressions, up 1%, April 19-25, according to Luminate.
On the most recently released Hot Rock & Alternative Songs multimetric chart (dated April 27, covering data April 12-18), “Dilemma” charted at No. 45, a new high. In addition to its radio airplay, the song earned 307,000 official streams in the US during that time.
“Dilemma” is the second single, following “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” from Saviors, Green Day's 14th studio set. It debuted at No. 1 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart dated February 3 and has earned 108,000 album equivalents to date.
