Green Day's new album saviorshas arrived.
Their fourteenth studio album, saviorsis Green Day's first full release since 2020 Father of all motherfuckers, and features a greater political bent than the band has had in years. The lead single, “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” proves this with its title alone, as well as lyrics like “I don’t want huddled masses/ TikTok and taxes/ Under the overpass/ Sleeping on broken glass.”
Speaking about the band's return to the political theme, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong explained: “This time, we put it out and felt like it was the perfect time for it… It takes those special, inspired moments to have a moment like 'The “American dream is killing me.”
Later singles: “Look Mom, No Brain!” “Dilemma” and “One Eyed Bastard” showcased the album’s powerful modern rock sound, brought to life by producer Rob Cavallo, who previously worked with Green Day in 2012.
