Green Day are heading into next year for a multi-date stadium tour.
The rock trio inducted into the Rock Hall The Saviors tour will enter Melbourne's Marvel Stadium on March 1, followed by Sydney's Engie Stadium on March 3 and wraps up on March 5 at CBUS Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.
Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool will play in full Dookiewhich this year completes 30 years and American Idiotis celebrating its 20th anniversary. The set list will include cuts from Saviorstheir 14th and final album and hits from throughout their career.
Californian rockers AFI are the support, marking their first Australian dates since 2017.
“We've never been more excited to release new music than Saviors, a record meant to be heard live, together,” read a statement from Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool. “And we can't wait to get back to Australia, it's been too long. So let's thrash.”

Green Day are always welcome in Australia. Earlier this year, The Saviors reached No.2 on the ARIA Chart, for the rockers' 12th top 10 album here. Three of these LPs topped the national chart: Dookie (in 1994), American Idiot (2004) and Father of All Mothers (2020).
The California band were last booked to play Australia and New Zealand in 2020 for the four dates Hella Mega tourwith Fall Out Boy and Weezer. This run, however,tour-has-cancelled-their-australia-and-new-zealand-shows/” rel=”nofollow” target=”_blank”> canceled due to the pandemic. THE Saviors tour it will be their first visit to these parts since 2017, in support of Revolution Radio.
Green Day's Saviors tour made headlines last week when their show at Comerica Park in Detroit was cut short after an unauthorized drone was reportedly spotted hovering near the stage. The bandmates left the stage mid-song and returned 10 minutes later.
