A new live album from the Gregg Allman Band titled From Uncle Sam will be released on September 20 via Sawrite/The Orchard. It will be the first installment from the personal archives of the late Gregg Allman.
Gregg Allman Band – Uncle Sam is a complete recording of the group's July 1, 1983, concert at Uncle Sam's in Hull, Massachusetts. Highlights from that evening include Allman's solo numbers “Queen of Hearts” and “Sweet Feelin',” as well as covers of Allman Brothers Band classics such as “Midnight Rider” and “Melissa.”

By 1983, Allman had released two solo albums, Relaxed and Playing like a hurricaneand was looking to establish himself beyond the Allman Brothers Band, which had broken up for the second time. The musician toured intensively with the Gregg Allman Band throughout the year, leading to the peak of his success with the 1987 surprise hit “I'm No Angel.”
Allman died in May 2017 at the age of 69 due to complications from liver cancer.
